Does RASA offer programs other than spring recreational softball?
Yes, RASA also offers several opportunities for additional levels of play, including:
VIGS - stands for Valley Intercommunity Girls Softball. VIGS organizations include recreational softball leagues from Souderton, North Penn, Deep Run Valley,
Doylestown, Harleysville, Lenape Valley, Nor Gwyn, Montgomery, and Towamencin. You can check out their website if you want more info at www.vigssoftball.com.
Sunday Select - teams are formed in the fall in which there are tryouts. It is a requirement of the VIGS rules that members of a Sunday Select team must
also play on a RASA rec league team thru the entire season. The season consists of a 10 game Sunday schedule from April thru June.
Fall Ball - we also have a Fall Ball league in Sept & Oct.
Travel - there may also be opportunities to play on tournament teams for girls at the U10, U12, U14 & U18 levels.
Can players live outside of Quakertown and still play in RASA? Yes, absolutely. There are no geographical restrictions to playing in RASA. You may live anywhere and still be eligible to play in our league.
I am interested in coaching a team. What should I do?
Contact RASA at
if you would like to be considered for coaching. You will then be contacted by RASA to discuss current openings. As a coach, you will be required to sign the RASA Coaches Code of Conduct Agreement and attend an instructional clinic. You will also be required to get a background check done. We also are in need of assistant coaches who are encouraged to also attend the instructional clinic.
Does my daughter have to play in her age bracket?
If you wish your daughter to "play up" you must contact RASA at
. If you do not contact RASA players will be automatically assigned to the appropriate division.
Players will be able to request RASA approval to play in "upper" Divisions. The RASA approval process will take into account the player's ability and history within the RASA organization - approval to play up is not guaranteed and will be done on a case by case basis.
Players age 13-19 be able to select the appropriate VIGS division.
